Nebraska Gears Up For 2026 National FFA Week

2026 National FFA Week is February 21-28

National FFA Week always runs from Saturday to Saturday and encompasses Feb. 22, George Washington's birthday. This year, the week kicks off on Feb. 21 and culminates on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The National FFA Board of Directors designated the weeklong tradition, which began in 1948, recognizing Washington's legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A group of young farmers founded FFA in 1928, and the organization has been influencing generations that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting—it involves science, business and more.

FFA Week serves as a dedicated period for FFA members to amplify the impact of the FFA Organization in developing future leaders and advancing agricultural education.

The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 1,042,245 student members as part of 9,407 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Nebraska FFA reported a total of 218 FFA chapters with over 12,000 FFA members for the program year 2024-2025. Nebraska FFA chapters unite with their communities during this week, leading diverse service projects that give back and create meaningful impacts. Each days carries a theme that FFA chapters are encouraged to celebrate and promote in their own schools and communities. The following are the themes for 2026:

Sunday: SAE Sunday
Monday: National Day of Service
Tuesday: FFA Alumni Day
Wednesday: Ag Teacher Appreciation Day
Thursday: Give FFA Day
Friday: National Wear Blue Day
