Litchfield FFA

Litchfield FFA, an active participant in the I Believe in the Future of Ag campaign, has a couple of reasons for participating. First, the campaign helps them get out into the community and meet local business owners. Students take the responsibility of asking for donations and sharing with potential donors what their chapter does and how they benefit from FFA. The second reason for participating is for the interactions with the I Believe Sponsor Engagement Contest through the Goosechase app. Litchfield students enjoy the Goosechase activities and get to learn a lot about different careers and industries related to agriculture. They gain a greater understanding of opportunities beyond their hometowns. Oftentimes their interaction with program sponsors is through guest speakers either virtually or in person.

Currently, their donated funds go to chapter expenses. Donations allow all students to participate in their FFA program without worrying about how to pay for meals, FFA official dress, and other expenses. The donations also help fund equipment and supplies for competition preparation as well as enhance the learning experience in the agriculture education classroom.

The Litchfield FFA chapter has participated in the I Believe in the Future of Ag campaign for the past four or five years with twenty current high school students involved. Their goal is to interact with as many sponsors as possible in order to expose students to a wide spectrum of the agriculture industry.
